Harshal: Lyon is the clearest reminder of why your premier spinner is never optional, no matter the surface or conditions. He may not always be the loudest presence, but time and again he delivers in the moments that matter.
Alex Carey: We’ll reflect on today and come up with plans for tomorrow. We know these guys are quality players right to the end, and we want to keep working hard and probably not look too far ahead. I just thought Nathan (Lyon) was bowling really well and to continue putting lots of energy on the ball. He toiled away all day and finally got some reward. I just wanted him to bowl with as much energy as possible, there’s enough in the pitch. We saw that, and finally he picked up a couple of late wickets. I always want to contribute to helping this team win games of cricket. I understand there’s still a lot of work to do tomorrow morning. So far, so good, but like I said, well personally, I don’t look too far ahead. It’s probably reflect, jump in the pool tonight, get home to the kids, and come back tomorrow really looking forward to it. I think the boys are bowling great areas. We know it’ll be hard work again.
17:32 Local Time, 07:02 GMT, 12:32 IST: Australia have edged closer to retaining the Ashes by Stumps on Day 4. England showed early resistance by claiming six wickets in the morning session, but they could not carry that momentum into their batting. With just ten minutes left before lunch, Pat Cummins struck to remove Duckett and set the tone. After the interval, England pieced together a couple of partnerships, but none truly threatened to shift the balance. Crawley combined reasonably well with Root and later with Brook, but the breakthroughs came at crucial moments. Root edged behind off Cummins, Brook’s innings ended in frustration with a mistimed reverse sweep against Lyon, and Stokes was undone by a beauty from the off-spinner. Crawley, too, was eventually lured out of his crease and stumped. By the close, Australia remained firmly in control, with England’s resistance fading just short of something meaningful. With three sessions remaining in this Test, Australia are only four wickets away from another emphatic win. We'll be back tomorrow for one last time for the Adelaide Test. Do join us!
